Brighton prove too strong for Hill’s battling fourths

LADIES’ HOCKEY

Burgess Hill 4s 1

Brighton 8s 4 Monterey-Burton, aged just 14, worked hard to keep a clean sheet for Burgess Hill in the first half of this friendly.

And it was Hill who took the lead in that first half when Larissa Goodger’s shot gave the keeper no chance with its power and accuracy from the right.

The defence had to work harder in the second half as Brighton’s higher level players pushed forward – Tracey Payne, Sue Norman and Sally Vans Agnew with back-tohockey newbie Jill Bennett did well to keep the onslaught to four goals against.

Burgess Hill will be running some ‘back to hockey’ sessions from Wednesday, April 27 at The Triangle, which will run from 7-8pm. Please contact

or go to the club website if you interested in going along.

Burgess Hill Ladies IVs: Ellie Monterey-Burton (GK), Wendy Caddye (Capt), Tracey Payne,

Sue Norman, Sally Vans Agnew, Jill Bennett, Nicky Smith, Anisha Maxwell, Lynne Simmons, Jill Brotherton, Rebecca Temple, Larissa Goodger.
