New online form for grants

-

Burgess Hill Town Council has launched a new online form to improve the Grants Application process for local groups.

Groups can now apply for the next round of Minor Grants of up to £1,000, which are available for running costs and capital expenditure.

The new form has been designed to be user friendly and paper-free.

“We hope this new process will encourage more groups to apply, benefitting the Burgess Hill Community as a whole,” said a Burgess Hill Town Council spokesperson.

The deadline for Minor Grants is Saturday, April 30.

Major Grants of more than £1,000 are also available for capital costs only, and the deadline is September 30.

People can get paper versions of the forms at the Help Point in Church Walk if requested.

The Grants Awards Panel is set to meet at 7pm on Monday, May 9, in the council chamber to consider applications. This is an open meeting and community groups that apply are encouraged to attend.

Councillor Simon Hicks, current chairman of the panel, said: “The Town Council has tried to make it easier for local community groups to apply for funding by introducing this change, and particularly welcomes applications from organisations that have not applied for funding in the past.

“We want to be as flexible as possible in ensuring we can support Burgess Hill’s thriving voluntary sector and welcome feedback from, and engagement with applicants.”
