Organ Day is celebrated with week of events

The Parish Church of St Andrew and St Mary the Virgin, Fletching, is hosting a full week of events to celebrate International Organ Day (IOD), with events starting on Saturday, April 23 and finishing on Saturday, April 30.

On April 23, Fletching Church will be opening its doors, from 10am-4pm, to teach the public about its historic organ.

During the following week children of Fletching School will also have the opportunity to find out about the organ.

At the end of the week, on April 30, there will The Big ‘B’s concert.

Held at the church, starting at 7.30pm, the free concert will see Peter Bassett play music by J S Bach and the North German organistcomposers of the Baroque who most influenced him – Buxtehude, Bruhns and Bohm.
