Ready for big cup test
Haywards Heath RFC won 50-10 in a friendly against Pulborough as a warm-up to Saturday’s Sussex Cup quarter final. Heath played some great rugby in glorious sunshine in front of an Easter Saturday crowd.
The visitors scored first, but Heath responded quickly to open up a decisive lead with tries from Tom Wharton, Evan Herbert and two for Bobby Collins. Pulborough clawed one back for 24-10 at half-time.
The second half brought tries for Mitch Day, Jamie Diggle, Dan Shotton and Casper Cordeschi as the home side stretched the lead to 50 -10.
This should set up Heath to be competitive against higher league opposition Hastings & Bexhill in the quarter finals of the Bob Rogers Sussex Cup on Saturday at Whitemans Green (2.30pm kick-off ).
