Lindfield golfers are back in swing

A mixed foursomes played at Lindfield Golf Club had an excellent turnout with 12 teams competing in the glorious sunshine. The competitio­n hasn’t been played since 2018.

Olivia Pagden, the Ladies’ Captain, thanked all that took part as many of the ladies that competed had only been members for less than two years – she commended their commitment to integratin­g all of the club sections.

Steve Lombardo, the ViceCaptai­n, delivered his first presentati­on praising the support of club members. He and his wife Michelle played a good round although he did apologise for saying after the 3rd hole he had picked the wrong partner.

The winners were Nick Jones and Karen Spicer with 40 points, they both said they were delighted to see the return of this competitio­n and enjoyed the day.

The Easter Cup, Lindfield’s first major competitio­n of the season, attracted 25 teams for the greensomes competitio­n in the sunshine.

The course played exceptiona­lly well and this was reflected in the scores.

With40poin­tsin3rdpla­ce was Steven George and Graham Taylor, second with 41 were Geoff Cobb and Graham Taylor and winners with 42 points were Ryan Box and James Ellis-Somerville.

They were presented with the trophy by Vice Captain Steve Lombardo.
