Increase in viewers for council’s webcasts

-

The total number of people watching West Sussex County Council meetings online has risen during the pandemic, but still remains relatively modest.

In 2019/20 a total of 8,069 views were clocked up across 35 different meetings. These include both live and archived viewings and represents an average of 231 views per meeting.

In 2020/21 there were 18,012 total views across 75 meetings, an average of 240.

Meanwhile in 2021/22 the total number of views fell to 10,681 for 61 meetings, an average of 175.

The figures are included in a report due to be discussed by the governance committee on Monday.

During the first year of the pandemic meetings went virtual, but since last May, members have met in person again. Some meetings are always webcast and others may be if matters of significant public interest are to be discussed.
