Powell: wehave made progress

-

Hope Powell believes Albion have taken steps in the right direction this season after their Women’s Super League season ended with a 1-1 draw at home to Everton.

Albion were hoping to finish with a record number of wins and points in the WSL but had to settle for seventh place, one lower than last season.

“It would have been nice to finish with those records broken but it feels like we have progressed this season and that’s the most important thing,” said Powell. “I say it every season but it’s been really tough.

“There is still a lot of work to do but the foundations are definitely in place.

“Everything is in place to support the players off the pitch but it’s the consistency in our play which means we’ve dropped some unnecessary points this season.

“We will review it in the summer and try and bring in more and better players.”
