Athletes test their stamina
SCORES of athletes swam, biked and ran their way across Redcar in a gruelling test of stamina and determination.
A total of 157 competitors took part in yesterday’s Redcar Triathlon.
Once the swimmers had completed the 750m swim, they ran up the steps to Tuned In! and, after a quick change out of their wetsuits, they hopped on their bicycles and began the second leg of the event.
They each tackled a 20km bike course along the seafront, ending with a flat three-lap run around the boating lake and promenade - completing a 5k in total.
The weather stayed bright and dry for the many spectators who lined the beach and road to watch their family and friends take part.
