A SELF-TAUGHT make-up artist has proved you achieve your dream while working here on Teesside.

Heather Searle, from Tollesby, runs her own business in central Middlesbrough, proving she can make it big as a make-up artist without having to uproot.

The 26-year-old now works up to 100 weddings per year as well as running her salon, Heather Fran- cessca Pro Makeup Artist and Studio (HFS Make Up), six days a week.

Heather said: “I’ve done make-up for coming up to 10 years now and from leaving school at 16 I decided that make-up was what I wanted to do.

She started working at Smash Box then became an account manager role at Harvey Nichols in Leeds. After four and a half years, she decided it was time to move home and re-evaluate. Three years later, after a lot of hard work as a freelance make-up artist, Heather is the proud owner of her studio and still finds time to do wedding make up.

HFS Make Up, in the Forbes Building, now employs two staff. It offers one-to-one make up tutorials for individuals or pairs, and is about to start group sessions ideal for hen parties.
