A POPULAR country pub has reopened as a steakhouse.

The Dog and Gun in Potto, near Hutton Rudby, has been taken over and become the Tomahawk Steakhouse.

Dubbed as a “specialist country restaurant and bar”, the restaurant will serve “the finest Himalayan salt dry aged steaks, Yorkshire Wagyu and other great local meat, fish and vegetarian dishes”, according to the Facebook page.

But although it is a new name for the area, you might be familiar with the people behind the new venture. Tom Sturman and Andy Abbott are the two chefs behind the Supperclub Bros - a pop-up restaurant which operates from Kirklevington Village Hall once a month.

Tom and Andy have both come from either a Michelin or Rosette-accredited restaurant background. And people are already getting excited about the duo’s new offering - with several people commenting on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Pictures shared on the site have also been wellreceived.
