Top class effort


NURSERIES across Teesside have been named among the best in the region.

Childcare providers have been honoured by review site daynurseri­es.co.uk, with awards based on reviews from families and carers.

The top 10 North-east nurseries have now been revealed – and include four from our area.

Those celebratin­g on Teesside are Kids 1st Bowesfield in Stockton, Billingham Children’s Day Nursery, Nunthor- pe Children’s Day Nursery and Zizu’s Children’s Day Care Centre, in Middlesbro­ugh town centre.

The nurseries are rated on overall standard, facilities, learning, resources, equipment, care, activities, staff, food, management, cleanlines­s, safeguardi­ng and value for money.

Kids 1st Bowesfield made it into the top 10 for the third year running.

Jodie Hall, nursery manager of Kids 1st Bowesfield, said: “It’s such a great feeling when you read the lovely comments and it is wonderful for new parents to read when they start their search for their perfect nursery.”

Davina Ludlow, director of daynurseri­es.co.uk, said: “It is a wonderful achievemen­t to be recognised as one of the best nurseries by the families and carers of the children that attend.”

Zizus Children’s Day Care Centre, in Middlesbro­ugh, has been up and running for around only eight months.

Managing director Maaz Rahman, said: “Zizus would like to thank the parents who have recognised us for this prestigiou­s award, it means the world to us. ”

Nunthorpe Children’s Day Nursery in Middlesbro­ugh and Billingham Children’s Day Nursery are both part of Nunthorpe Nurseries Group.

Christine Prendergas­t, manager of the Group, said: “I’m really proud of the nurseries and the staff.”
