Man faces Christ­mas in cus­tody

A MAN charged over an at­tack will be spend­ing Christ­mas be­hind bars.

Jon Wright, of Town­ley Street, Mid­dle­ton, ap­peared be­fore Liver­pool Crown Court along­side two other de­fen­dants on Mon­day (De­cem­ber 4).

Emer­gency ser­vices were called to the scene on New­ing­ton and Ren­shaw Street in Liver­pool in the early hours of Satur­day morn­ing, to re­ports that a fight had bro­ken out.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospi­tal with se­ri­ous head in­juries, while two other men suf­fered mi­nor in­juries.

Af­ter the in­ci­dent, two men and a teenage girl were charged with a num­ber of of­fences and ap­peared at Liver­pool Crown Court yes­ter­day.

Mr Wright, 36, was charged with af­fray, as­sault oc­ca­sion­ing ABH, as­sault by beat­ing of an emer­gency worker, and as­sault by beat­ing,

Nikesh McHugh, 24, of Manor­fields, Craw­ley, West Sus­sex, was charged with af­fray, as­sault oc­ca­sion­ing ABH and wound­ing with­out in­tent.

Both have been re­manded in cus­tody and will reap­pear at Liver­pool Crown Court on Jan­uary 2 next year.

Dile­sha McHugh, 19, of Moor­fields, Craw­ley, West Sus­sex, was charged with af­fray, as­sault by beat­ing, and com­mon as­sault.

She was re­leased on con­di­tional bail af­ter yes­ter­day’s hear­ing.
