AMIDDLETON artist has become the latest addition to an online retailer based in his home town.

Justin Eagleton, who has lived in Alkrington all his life, is the latest talent to join uniquelymanchester.co.uk, a website based on Old Hall Street, next to the Middleton Arena, which launched in May 2018 and sells art, photography, homeware and gifts.

The professional artist, illustrator and designer of 25 years creates collectable Manchester City and Unitedthemed artwork featuring club legends and is also known for his ‘doodle-style- illustrated map of the city.

He was recently commissioned by Tackle4Mcr to create a piece of art for Vincent Kompany’s Testimonial Gala

Dinner, where he presented the finished piece to the Manchester City captain.

A signed print of the same work was auctioned off on the night, raising £8,000 for Andy Burnham’s A Bed Every Night initiative.

Justin, who is a coopted governor of Alkrington Community Primary School, which he attended and where his two children are now pupils, was also involved in last year’s Bee in the City scheme.

He was chosen to design one of the bees on display in the city centre and his Hac‘BEE’Enda bee was sold to a private collector for a staggering £20,000.

Justin, who used to be a computer games artist and designer and worked for EA SPorts on many of its FIFA titles, said: “I’m very excited to be working with such an iconic brand as Uniquely Manchester on a variety of bespoke artwork and sharing my creative passion with the people of this great city and beyond.

“I am a season ticket holder at Manchester United, so getting to work with both major football teams and raising money for local charities was both rewarding and humbling.

“As a result of selling highly at auction, my work is gaining critical acclaim and I am now working on much bigger projects across the country.”

Neil Ayers, the managing director of Uniquely Manchester, added: “We are delighted to welcome Justin, his work is exceptional and portrays the very essence of what we are about – local, independent talent creating work that can be, and should be, enjoyed by everyone.

“We are very much about supporting local businesses and talent, providing a platform to promote their work and creativity further afield.”

Justin is now working on a huge mural to go outside The Printworks in Manchester, featuring images from his time growing up in the area.
