Postman hid 34,000 items
FOOTIE FAN’S OWN HOME BAN LIFTED
A POSTMAN hid more than 34,000 packages at his home over an 18-month period while working for the Royal Mail.
Anthony Brierley, 49, intentionally delayed 11,898 addressed letters and packages as well as 21,686 door-to-door items instead of delivering them.
Brierley, Failsworth, Oldham, Lancs, was caught out by Royal Mail investigators after post had been reported missing.
It was also discovered that 831 packages had been stolen between November 2010 and September 2011 by Brierley, who pleaded guilty at Oldham Magistrates’ Court to theft of mail and engaging in the business of delaying and opening postal packets.
He will appear at crown court for sentencing on February 27.
Brunette babe Danielle Bux, 32, a former air hostess who now models sexy undies for high street chain La Senza, is desperate to make it in movies.
And she’s been working on her US accent after winning a part in new surf flick In Between The Waves.
Former England striker and host of the BBC1 footie show Gary says he now fancies putting his feet up and retiring from telly if she can crack Tinseltown.
He explained: “I think moving to America is something we would look at when it arises. It would be a lovely dilemma to face.
“If she starts making $15 - $20 million dollars-per-movie I can retire. “I’m getting old anyway.” And Hell’s Kitchen star Danielle is determined to step out of her hubby’s shadow and make it as an actress.
She said: “I’ve just finished another acting course because I didn’t go to drama school and I think if I can do as many courses as possible then it’s going to help me.”
Gary, 51, reckons his missus could be the next big Brit star – like Kate Winslet or Kate Beckinsale.
He added: “I’ve been doing the same thing for a long time now.
“She is really good. I’d never rule anything out.” A SOCCER fan had a ban overturned after a judge heard it barred him from going into his OWN HOME.
Stoke City season ticket holder Ryan Tapner, 21, had been told not to go within 2.5km of the Premier League club’s ground on match day.
But a court heard he lives just two minutes from the Britannia Stadium.
This meant the supporter could be jailed for being in his own house during Stoke home games!
Tapner received the ban after he was convicted of using threatening behaviour at an away game – which was then altered to apply only to the Potters’ ground.
His barrister Robert Smith said: “He could not even go to work on match days as his employer was also too close.”
Judge Rhys Rowlands overturned the ban and said it wasn’t right for the situation.
