Richard Scholefield, 47, is said to have groped the breasts and groin area of a 39-year-old woman and massaged cream into her chest.
He also got a 17-year-old to remove her boxer shorts and touched her intimately as he mumbled to himself, Sheffield Crown Court was told.
The older woman said at one stage her legs were spread apart “like a frog” and Scholefield put her in the “Morecambe and Wise” position with one hand behind her neck as he rubbed her.
When he’d finished the examination his hands were shaking and he said to her: “It looks like you have enjoyed that”.
Scholefield, who worked as an NHS physiotherapist in the South Yorkshire area, was arrested when the 39-year-old woman went to the police and it was discovered the teenager’s mother had earlier reported him to his bosses.
Scholefield, of Birkby, Huddersfield, denies four offences of sexual assault against the 39-year-old and one sexual assault against the 17-year-old when both were alone in his treatment room.
Michaal Slater, prosecuting, said the older woman went to see him at Mount Vernon Hospital in Barnsley on June 28 last year with a back complaint.
In a curtained-off cubicle Scholefield told the woman to remove her vest top, leaving her in a bra and trousers. As she lay face down on the bed he began massaging her back with cream and directed her to take off her trousers.
Splayed
He then allegedly pulled down her boxer shorts and “splayed her legs out on the table so they were hanging off the table at either side and began to massage the tops of her inner thighs,” said Mr Slater.
The physio is then said to have told her to roll over onto her back and gave her a towel to cover up but allowed her breasts to become exposed as she removed her bra.
He then allegedly began to massage her groin area and she was “having serious doubts about what was going on”.
Mr Slater added: “If nothing more than asking herself why, if she had a back condition, was she lying on her back when it was her back that needed the treatment?
“He began rubbing the front of her legs and then put cream down the sides of her breasts and on her shoulders.
“He was rubbing her breasts in a circular motion which he did for a couple of minutes.”
The first alleged sex assault happened on May 4 last year in a room at a clinic in Penistone, near Barnsley when the 17-year-old girl went in with a hip problem.
Scholefield touched her hip then moved to the top of her groin before asking her to remove her boxer shorts.
The girl then found him pressing his fingers in her groin area and moving her knickers to one side exposing the top of her vagina.
Mr Slater said the behaviour of the physio towards the girl was “wholly inappropriate” and “mostly for the defendant’s gratification rather than alleviate any condition she was suffering from.”
When interviewed by police Scholefield said he had treated both victims properly and denied touching their breasts or vaginal areas.
