What makes a man want to bonk a dog?

SEX with animals is bizarre, unnatural and very, very wrong.

No normal person looks at a dog and says to themselves “phwaor” or meets the eye of a horse and thinks “I’m in love”.

But there is a persistent group of people who can’t stop themselves shagging animals. So why do they do it? According to research by Professor Christopher Bagley, people are attracted to animals because of a strict upbringing that denies sexual impulses.

If they are taught that the thoughts they are having about females are wrong their subconscious causes them to refocus their attractions.

Bagley wrote in 1969: “There are people whose normal sex channels are closed off as a result of strict teachings, or an early sexual experience, for which they were punished and/or humiliated.

“In these individuals, thoughts about a ‘proper’ sex partner are not possible. Sexual urges become strong, and create an unbearable conflict at the near-conscious level.

“These urges propel them, without their awareness, into homosexual relations, bestial relations, and other sexual areas which are condemned by society.”

But other investigators argue the urge to bonk an animal is much simpler and that in most cases, the animal serves as a substitute for the absent human love object, especially with lonely people. Whatever the reason, it’s nothing new. “Zoophilia” – also known as bestiality – has been going for as long as man has had domesticated beasts.

And it was such a problem in early times that the Bible forbids it, saying in Leviticus 20:15-16: “If a man has sexual relations with an animal he must be put to death, and you must kill the animal.

“If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”

The founder of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, believed sexual fetishism in blokes derives from the unconscious fear of the mother’s genitals, from men’s universal fear of castration, and from his fantasy that his mother had a penis but that it had been cut off.

There is no surefire way to know why some people fancy animals – it could be as simple as they won’t turn them down.

But if the urge ever strikes YOU, remember not only is it disgusting – it’s also VERY ILLEGAL.
