COPPER ‘BONKED WOMEN HE PULLED ON DUTY’ Court told PCSO abused his position to get laid
A MARRIED police officer had sex with five women he targeted while on duty in uniform, a court heard.
Peter Bunyan carried on a number of illicit affairs while working as a Police Community Support Officer over a five-year period, it’s alleged.
He is also accused of accessing confidential information from the police crime intelligence computers about some of the women and other individuals.
Grey-haired Bunyan, 40, went on trial yesterday charged with twelve counts of wilful misconduct in public office with working with Devon and Cornwall Police.
Prosecutor Simon Burns told the jury at Taunton Crown Court that Bunyan had “abused his position as a police officer by targeting vulnerable women and conducting inappropriate sexual relationships with them while on duty”.
He said the case would not have come to court had Bunyan if extra-marital affairs during his own spare time.
Mr Burns said the court will hear “sordid details” about the way Bunyan behaved, that Bunyan had conducted sexual relationships while on duty and in full uniform, and gave an example of when the PCSO turned down or switched off his police radio which meant he could not be raised by his police colleagues.
In a police interview with colleagues who were investigating him, he said: “I ain’t proud of what I have done. I haven’t done anything illegal. I have been caught with my dick out.
“I should have kept my dick in my pants and just supported these people.
Welfare
“I have done nothing illegal, morally yes.”
The court heard PCSO Bunyan met one victim, who was said to be delusional, during a welfare check at her home.
But the prosecutor said: “He propositioned her and she performed oral sex on him. They went on to have a full sexual relationship.”
He also encouraged her to send naked photos of herself to the police station and would “goggle” at them and thought they were funny, said a colleague.
Bunyan denies all 12 counts.
The trial continues.
