Keane ‘no regrets’ at missing out on Van Gaal call-up
ON-LOAN Burnley defender Michael Keane insists he has no regrets at missing out on the chance to make his mark at Manchester United.
Keane, 21, joined the Clarets from United at the end of August in a temporary deal running until January.
But if he had stayed at Old Trafford he may have got in Louis van Gaal’s team, with an injury crisis bringing starting opportunities for Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair.
“I probably would have played, but it’s just one of those things,” said Keane.
“You have to be in the right place at the right time – and unfortunately it didn’t work out for me.
“I got over it pretty quickly, no regrets.”
