BOYD WANTS STRACH CALL
GEORGE BOYD reckons he and Scott Arfield can gatecrash Gordon Strachan’s Scotland squad by doing the business for Burnley.
Boyd (above) won the last of his two caps in May and is hoping the switch to Turf Moor – and regular Premier League action – can get him back into Strach’s plans.
The 29-year-old said: “Scotland are doing really well at the minute and Strachan has got his squad together, but you never know. If there’s a few injuries, there’s a big chance for the likes of me and Scotty Arfield – who’s also been playing really well – to get in the squad.
“I think he’s deserved to be in the last couple of squads the way he’s been playing.
“If he can keep doing what he’s doing, hopefully he’ll get his chance.
“I think Strachan knows what we can do by now, so it’s up to him whether he wants to put us in the squad.”
