MIDWEEKMIDWEEK THE sexiest moment of 2015 will be at 8.47pm on Valentine’s Day – the time when most couples will be having SEX, according to new research.

But Sex O’Clock is very different when it comes to whether you are married, have children or are in a new relationship.

New lovers are likely to be at it far earlier, with 8.07pm the optimum time.

Married couples tend to leave it later – 9.07pm – and are less likely to divert from their sexual routine on February 14.

And couples with children are the latest of all – saving their passion till 9.23pm, when the kids are safely tucked up in bed.

But when all the different couples’ times were averaged out, the most popular time overall was 8.47pm.

The results come from a new poll of 1,500 people by Lovehoney, Britain’s biggest online sex toy retailer.

It found that 42% of couples always have sex on Valentine’s Day and 47% sometimes do.

Just 7% of couples rarely have sex on the big day.

Men and women are in disagreement about who initiates this sex. Women

say it is initiated by their partner in just 17% of cases, by them 13% of the time, and agreed mutually 70% of the time. Men are keener to take credit for kicking things off, with 37% saying they are the initiators. Just 4% reckon women take the lead and 59% say the decision is mutual.

Just over a third of couples (35%) feel sexier than usual on Valentine’s Day.

Half would be ‘disappointed’ if they didn’t have sex.

A further 48% of couples said they did feel under pressure to have sex on Valentine’s Day.

Lovehoney co-owner Richard Longhurst said: “It is great news that more than 80% of couples are in the habit of having sex on Valentine’s Day.

“And clearly they are not waiting for bedtime before getting passionate.

“By 8.47pm, most couples are having a great time, though it’s understandable that those with kids hold off till after the 9pm watershed!”

Model Sammy Marshall, 27, knows exactly what she’ll be doing on Valentine’s Night.

The 34DD Lincoln babe revealed: “I’ll probably have to drag him kicking and screaming, but I’m taking my fella to watch the Fifty Shades film.

“I couldn’t care less whether he’s interested in or not – I am!

“And if it’s everything I’m expecting it to be, he’ll be in for a fantastic time afterwards.”
