RAM JUST LOVES COQ! Tough nut makes Gunners tick, says Aaron
FRAN FAN: Aaron Ramsey
has hailed the huge impact of Coquelin AARON RAMSEY has hailed Francis Coquelin as the midfield enforcer who has transformed Arsenal’s season.
Coquelin has given the Gunners some muchneeded steel in the middle of the park since being recalled from a loan spell at Charlton Athletic in December.
Since then, the young Frenchman has been in inspired form – and has won more tackles than any other player in the Premier League.
That has given Arsene Wenger’s side the spine they were badly lacking during mid-season – and set them on their way to a late challenge for the title.
Ramsey revealed he has been given the green light to get forward more, in the knowledge that Coquelin is behind him doing the dirty work and crunching into challenges.
The Wales international said: “Francis has been really good for us since he’s come back here.
“He’s very aggressive and he doesn’t give the opposition much time on the ball. That’s why he wins so many tackles.

But Ramsey reckons that has fired up the fight for places in the first team and claims that, as a result, the Gunners are now able to cope with whatever is thrown at them.
He added: “There are a number of players who are more than capable of putting in good performances in the middle and we have shown that with the number of different combinations we’ve had this season.
“There’s a real fight for places and everyone is keeping each other on their toes. It’s good that we have that strength in depth now.”
