COP FILMS 200 SEX ROMPS WITH HOOKERS

-

A POLICEMAN who used his iPhone to film more than 200 sexual encounters with prostitutes has walked free from court.

Irshad Kamal, 48, asked one of the unwitting sex workers for a glass of water and took the opportunity to get his mobile phone ready for filming.

His sordid video library was discovered when a woman accused him of attacking her by tearing her clothes off and grabbing her by the throat after booking her through AdultWork.com.

She did not go to police but Kamal was arrested when she posted his details on ‘Ugly Mugs’, a sex industry site for dangerous punters.

Kamal filmed himself having sex with prostitutes on more than 200 occasions.

Police visited the home Kamal shared with his mother and sister on November 20, 2014 and found the sordid videos on his computer, Southwark Crown Court heard.

Georgina Gibbs, prosecuting, said: “On there they found 202 films of the defendant engaging in sexual activity of various types with sex workers.”

Ms Gibbs said for the most part the prostitutes were aware that they were being filmed and did not object. But Kamal recorded his sexual activity with 18 women without their knowledge.

“Some of the women appear to become aware of the telephone filming them and became very concerned,” she said.

In one of the videos a woman could be heard asking Kamal ‘you are not filming me are you?’.

In another Kamal can be heard COVERT: Irshad Kamal asking the woman to go and get him a glass of water which gave him the opportunity to get his iPhone ready.

“He is very organised, he is not fumbly, he knows exactly what he is doing, Ms Gibbs said.

“Because he filmed so very many in this way there is a need to protect such women in the future from the covert filming of them in sexual acts by him.”

Simon Pentol, for Kamal, stated in mitigation that none of the footage was uploaded or seen by any other person.

He added: “He clearly has a sexual preference to film himself in such a predicament.”

Mr Pentol explained that Kamal is currently suspended and involved in an employment tribunal with the Metropolitan Police.

Kamal admitted three counts of voyeurism dating between 2010 and 2012.

Judge Nicholas Loraine-Smith spared Kamal jail and said of the filming: “I suspect that it was being recorded as part of your enjoyment of the process and you watched it later.”

The judge took into account the stress Kamal had been under and the fact he will now lose his job. He ordered him to avoid direct contact with sex workers, escorts or any other person involved in the sex industry.

Kamal, of Wandsworth, south west London, was sentenced to a community order and must sign on the sex offenders register.
