Asked about speculation that he has the chance to be a star performer in the Ant and Dec-fronted series, Mr Farage said: “No. I’m not going into anything.

“It’s a very successful show. But I’m actually quite busy at the moment.”

Media speculation claims Mr Farage has been offered between £250,000 and £750,000 to appear in the ITV show, which is filmed in the wilds of Australia.

It has long been famed for making contestants eat gruesome “bush tucker”.
