£1 footie bet scoops £574K

A HOUSEWIFE is celebrating after scooping over half a million quid from a £1 football bet.

The 59-year-old landed the astonishing payout on a 12-team accumulator.

Her £574,278.41 windfall came after she had a punt because she was getting fed up with her husband and son watching matches every weekend.

Her winning approach had her 30-year-old son reading out the fixtures last Saturday and her picking the teams she liked the sound of.

She picked wins for Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Burnley, Brighton, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, Bolton, Reading, Ipswich, Burton, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United.

Carli Faulkner, 38, of the William Hill branch in Leysdown-On-Sea, Kent, said: “It is incredible that the lady got them all up.”
