Welsh…or Tourette’s?

-

A GREGGS worker has been suspended after telling a customer it sounded like she had Tourette’s when she ordered a bacon roll in her native Welsh tongue.

Sioned Howells, 18, asked for the breakfast snack in Welsh and was stunned when the bakery worker failed to fully understand her order.

The staff member at Greggs in the market town of Lampeter, West Wales, then told her: “That was Welsh? Sounded more like you had Tourette’s to me.”

Furious Miss Howells complained about the worker comparing the ancient Celtic tongue with a speech condition.

Greggs said that the company was “deeply sorry” for any offence caused and said an investigation will be made.
