A TEACHER has been arrested after allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old student in a park.

Alyssia Marie Reddy, 28, was immediately fired from her job when the school was informed of her police quiz.

Cops said they received a report last month of the alleged sexual assault, which happened earlier this year.

They say their investigation found that Reddy had sexual intercourse with the student.

She has been held for institutional sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication facility and corruption of a minor.

Reddy, who now lives in Baltimore, Maryland, was working at the Pennington School in New Jersey when the alleged incident occurred.

She then moved to her current position at St Paul’s School for Girls in Maryland.

The school said in a letter to parents it had been “recently made aware of an alleged inappropriate relationship involving a former Upper School teacher of the Pennington School. It has been dealt with promptly.”

St Paul’s School for Girls headmistress Penny Evans told parents: “We have just learned that one of our Upper School teachers, Alyssia Reddy, who joined our faculty this year, has been charged with a felony involving sexual assault of a minor.

“The alleged events took place in Pennsylvania this past school year with a male high school student before she came to St Paul’s School for Girls.”
