A WOMAN age 29 is facing more than 15 years in jail after having sex with a 14-year-old boy and getting pregnant.

Tracie Casler met the boy at a Halloween party in 2016 and the pair went back to her house.

There Casler took him to her bedroom where she performed a sex act on him.

They then had full sex in her bed and he did not wear a condom.

It was the only time the pair had sex but Casler fell pregnant and nine months later gave birth to a boy.

After the child was born, Casler told friends and family what had happened and one of them tipped off the police.

Casler, of Santa Rosa, was charged with one count of lewd and lascivious battery with a victim aged 12 to 16.

It is a strict liability crime, which means that consent or not knowing the boy was under age cannot be offered as a defence.

DNA tests have been taken and although the results have not been publicly released it is understood they confirm that the victim is the father.
