Missing dog racist row
A GIRL’S missing dog has caused a massive row on social media – because the mutt is called NEGRO.
Twitter user Becky took to social media to seek help tracking down her pooch – which led to others questioning her choice of moniker.
Rather than Fido or Spike, Becky named her dog after the Spanish word for black, because that’s the colour of her pet pooch.
Becky is also from Mexico, hence the Spanish use of the term.
She tweeted: “Negro is missing. Please, if anyone sees him message me!”
Many criticised her online, but there was also support.
One Twitter user said: “All the sensitive people in this thread don’t understand that negro in Spanish means black – the colour, not the racist term.”
