TEACHER’S SEX IN SCHOOL CAR PARK WITH BOY,16
A TEACHER has allegedly admitted having sex with a student in the school car park.
Mum-of-two Madalyn Arnett, 25, was arrested after school officials reported rumours of a relationship between a teacher and a 16-yearold student.
Police were called after Arnett was reported for sexting the teen in the town of Franklin, Ohio.
Resigned
The Franklin High School teacher is now facing a charge of battery.
Arnett was arrested last week at her home in West Carrollton. She has now resigned from the school.
The Warren County prosecutor David Fornshell said the social studies teacher is accused of having sex with the student in the school car park.
She was placed on leave on March 27 when school authorities became aware of the relationship and escorted off the school’s property.
Fornshell said students had been talking about the relationship at school, and that Arnett had exchanged inappropriate messages with the boy.
Arnett had only been a qualified full-time teacher since May last year, according to state records.
The age of consent in Ohio is 16, but it is still illegal if someone has authority over the other partner – such as a teacher over a student.
“But this charge means there was a sexual encounter,” Fornshell said, adding that contact took place in a car in a parking lot.
