Labour MP ‘taunted her lesbian aide
A SENIOR Labour MP taunted her office manager about her sexuality as a lesbian, a court heard.
Jenny Lee Clarke, 42, told a jury about the “humiliation” she suffered at the hands of Shadow Equalities Minister Carolyn Harris, 57, at a Labour constituency office.
She accused Mrs Harris of a campaign of embarrassment against her once she found out she was gay.
Clarke, who was sacked by Swansea East MP Mrs Harris in January 2016, wept as she told the jury: “She asked what I did in bed with my girlfriend and would say things like, ‘You’ve got your dyke boots on today’.”
Clarke is on trial accused of forging Mrs Harris’ signature to give herself a pay rise and lower her working hours.
She denies the charge and the trial at Cardiff Crown Court continues.
