Fi­nal view­ing breaks record

THE fi­nal broke records for ITV2 on Mon­day, with an av­er­age of 3.6mil­lion view­ers tun­ing in to watch Dani Dyer and Jack Fin­cham be­ing crowned the win­ners.

The ex­tended episode of the pro­gramme, which aired from 9pm un­til 10.40pm, peaked with an au­di­ence of 4.1mil­lion, ac­cord­ing to overnight rat­ings.

ITV said it marked the big­gest au­di­ence ever for an ITV2 pro­gramme, and that it was the most-watched show in its times­lot across all chan­nels.

Last year’s fi­nal was watched by an av­er­age of 2.6mil­lion. In con­sol­i­dated rat­ings, in­clud­ing those view­ing via the ITV Hub, this se­ries’ av­er­age is at five mil­lion per episode, ITV said.

Paul Mor­timer, ITV’s head of dig­i­tal chan­nels and ac­qui­si­tions, said: “

was once again the must-see show of the sum­mer.”
