MUM ‘STRANGLED TO DEATH IN KINKY SEX SESSION’
HIDDEN: Charlotte Teeling A WOMAN was strangled to death during “rough sex” by a man who then hid her body in his room.
Richard Bailey, 41, is accused of killing Charlotte Teeling, 33, after meeting her in the early hours of the morning she left a nightclub.
Birmingham Crown Court heard that the pair got a taxi back to Bailey’s house, where they had sex before mum-oftwo Miss Teeling was smothered or throttled.
Her near-naked body was found surrounded by pornographic material in Bailey’s bedroom days after she was reported missing.
Miss Teeling, who had been living in a refuge in Worcester with her children, had turned to drink and drugs after a former boyfriend committed suicide.
She vanished after boarding a train from Worcester to Birmingham on February 22.
Bailey, from Kingstanding, Birmingham, is charged with murder and manslaughter.
Prosecutor Jonas Hankin QC told the court: “The deceased had met the defendant for the first time just a few hours earlier.
“He concealed her body in his bedroom, where he was certain to see it for several days.
“A police investigation was launched and police officers were led to the address and entered on March 2 when Mr Bailey was not there.
“They found her face down on the bed, naked apart from a piece of underwear on her midriff.
“The prosecution’s case is that while having penetrative sex, consensual or otherwise, Charlotte Teeling’s death was caused by strangling or smothering her.
“He has admitted to causing her death but is denying any actions that were unlawful.
“It will be argued in his defence that Charlotte’s death was an accident due to a choke hold that she asked him to perform during rough sex which she initiated.”
The trial continues.
