Libertines’ Pete 8,000 calorie feat

POP star Pete Doherty has completed a bizarre challenge – wolfing down a café’s monster 8,000 calorie breakfast.

The Libertines frontman ( above) was spotted taking on the mammoth ‘mega breakfast’ at the Dalby Cafe in Margate.

With his dog sitting nearby, Doherty ate four rashers of bacon, four eggs, four bangers, hash browns, onion rings, bubble and squeak, beans and two slices of thick bread, also finding room for a quarter pounder burger and chips.

As well as skipping the bill, because the singer polished off the massive fry-up in less than 20 minutes, he became a member of an elite few who have completed the feat.

Mark Ezekiel, cafe owner, said: “The challenge has been going since 2004, and 15 or 16 people have managed to complete it in total, and only five or six have managed to do it in 20 minutes.

“He surprised everyone. He smashed it. He finished it in under 20 minutes as well, so he got it for free.”

The Dalby Cafe has been open since 1946 and is believed to be Margate’s oldest cafe. THE US Embassy in Kathmandu has guidelines on what to do if a yeti is found.
