Cops right to Taser garden woman, 87
A POLICE chief said an officer was justified in using a Taser to stun an 87-year-old woman after she failed to obey commands to drop a knife in her hand.
Relatives said Martha Al-Bishara does not speak English and didn’t understand cop commands and that she was merely out cutting dandelions with a kitchen knife in the garden of her home earlier this month.
Police held her at gunpoint before felling her with a jolt from the stun gun. She was charged with criminal trespass and obstructing an officer.
“An 87-year-old woman with a knife still has the ability to hurt an officer,” said top cop Josh Etheridge in Chatsworth, Florida.”
