Man admits to stabbing mum dead
A MAN has admitted stabbing his mother to death in their home.
Thomas Fisher, 22, pleaded guilty in court to manslaughter by diminished responsibility after his mum Fiona was found dead at their East Sussex home in April.
Police found the body of the 51-year-old former shop manager at the Crowborough house after being called to check on her welfare.
She had died from a single stab wound in the chest, police said.
Fisher was due to stand trial on Monday accused of murder but the proceedings were postponed until he appeared in Lewes Crown Court yesterday when his alternative plea was accepted.
He admitted killing her sometime between April 25 and 27, and also pleaded guilty to fraud after using a Marks & Spencer card in his mother’s name.
