WATCHDOGS are to probe a claim that a sex-mad mayor told a woman she could have speed bumps on her road…if she had sex with him!

A Commission on Ethics said it has found probable cause that David Stewart violated laws in the so-called “humps for humps” case.

An official statement said Stewart used or attempted to use his position to secure a benefit for himself.

The finding means he can be hauled before a judge to answer the allegations.

Stewart – mayor of Lantana, Florida, since 2000 – has the option to settle the case or have a hearing before a judge.

If he opts for the hearing and loses he could face removal from office.

Stewart has denied the allegations, telling a commission investigator: “I think someone is trying to encourage her to do it.

“I don’t think that this was her idea.”

The resident making the accusation, Catherine Padilla, is calling for him to resign.

She said: “The mayor should be ashamed for what he did. I think it’s time he steps down. He needs to be accountable for his actions and he needs to do the right thing and step down.”

The speed bumps did get to be installed in Ms Padilla’s street.
