‘Min­der’ jailed for bang­ing dog

A MAN has been jailed for two years af­ter SHAG­GING some­one else’s DOG while he was sup­posed to be look­ing af­ter it.

Thomas Co­p­land, 32, was ar­rested af­ter a sher­iff’s deputy saw a dog with in­juries con­sis­tent with bes­tial­ity.

Af­ter dis­cov­er­ing the pooch was ‘last known to be in Co­p­land’s pos­ses­sion be­fore the in­juries oc­curred’, cops went look­ing for Co­p­land.

They found him hid­ing in a closet in­side his home in Spring Creek, Ne­vada.

De­spite plead­ing not guilty to bes­tial­ity, Co­p­land was jailed for two years for tor­tur­ing or in­jur­ing an an­i­mal.

He is also fac­ing trial over eleven post-bes­tial­ity counts of bur­glary and other charges for grand lar­ceny and theft by mis­rep­re­sen­ta­tion.
