Body find in search for missing Amy

A BODY has been found by search teams looking for a missing Brit in Tenerife.

Amy Louise Gerard, 28 ( above) – originally from Cleethorpes – was last seen outside Molly Malone’s in Puerto de la Cruz in the early hours of Friday.

Ms Gerard works at the Spanish island’s Loro Parque marine theme park.

Her mum and sister had flown out to help with the search.

Policia Nacional confirmed a body had been found but last night not yet identified.

Witnesses saw the coastguard and rescuers “appear to recover a body from the water” at 11.30pm.

According to her Facebook profile, University of Lincoln graduate Ms Gerard trains killer whales at the theme park on the island, where she has been living and working since May 2016.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office earlier confirmed it was assisting the family of a British woman in Tenerife.
