DRUG DEALERS FLOG ‘VEGAN’ COCAINE

- By COLIN HURST news@sundaysport.co.uk

DARK web dealers are targeting snowflake middle class users by claiming their drugs are “vegan” and “ethically friendly”, the National Crime Agency has warned.

Dealers have been found selling “organic vegan” LSD, “green” coke, “ethically sourced” Mephedrone “harvested from sustainable farms in Brazil” and “vegan and paleo matcha mint choc chip” cannabis cookies.

It comes as Cressida Dick, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, warned the growing demand from well-off users for cocaine was leading to a surge in violent crime in London.

She said: “There’s this challenge that there’s a whole group of middle class people who will sit round happily talking about global warming, fair trade, environmental protection and organic farming, but think there’s no harm in taking a bit of cocaine. Well, there is. There is misery throughout the supply chain.”

An investigation found dealers are trying to cash in by marketing their “sustainable” drugs to the growing number of eco-conscious and affluent buyers.

One dealer claimed “none of our revenue will ever go to any criminal organisations involved in human trafficking, prostitution or other ethically and morally untenable practices”.

The National Crime Agency claimed the ploy was little more than a scam to hike up prices.

A spokesman said: “The ‘ethical’ claims are unlikely to be much more than a marketing ploy to entice new trade and charge a premium price.

“Most new psychoactive substances are sourced in China and the NCA is not aware of any ‘ethical’ supply chains from that region.”
