WHEN Torquay hotelier Basil Fawlty was caught doing the notorious “goose step”, he could have landed in hot water.

The marching technique was invented by the Romans but brought bang up to date by Italian fascists and their pals, the Nazis.

Mr Fawlty explained he was NOT doing the goose step but was in fact performing a groin exercise recommended by his doctor for gyp caused by a wound he got in the war (Korean!)
