MUM TRIED TO HAVE SEX WITH SLEEPING BLOKE
Blonde, 40, faces jail
GUILTY: Barr had claimed the man initiated the sex A MUM faces jail after she tried to have sex with a younger man as he slept.
Elizabeth Barr, 40, launched herself at the 27-year-old at a flat, leaving him in tears.
Barr claimed anything that happened was consensual – and that the victim had “panicked” because he had cheated on his girlfriend.
But the mum-of-two was convicted following a trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court, having been found guilty of trying to have sex with the man while he was sleeping and unable to consent.
She had only met the man hours before the incident.
They ended up with others at the flat in Easterhouse and Barr and the man were soon alone in the living room.
A woman at the flat said she was in bed later when the man came to the door of the room.
Prosecutor Harry Findlay asked: “How did he appear?” She replied: “He was crying.”
Police were later alerted and Barr was held. Giving evidence at the trial, Barr insisted the man initiated sex.
Asked what then happened, she added: “He picked up his phone and his face fell. He said, ‘I need to call a taxi. I need to go home’.
“He was panicking about his girlfriend finding out he had cheated. I said, ‘Either tell her the truth or tell her nothing’.”
When asked if he seemed “unwilling” to participate. Barr replied: “It was him that asked me.”
The Sheriff deferred sentencing for reports.
