COMMONS SECURITY GUARDS COULD SCUPPER BREXIT
Strike to cripple Westminster
BREXIT could yet be scuppered – but not by Remain fanatics or shifty foreign tricks.
Britain’s exit from the EU may be called off, thanks to a bunch of bolshy jobsworth security guards at the House of Commons.
The jumped-up bouncers at the Palace of Westminster are to be balloted for industrial action in a dispute over workload and changes to their break times.
Members of the Public and Commercial Services union (PCS) will vote in the coming weeks on whether to launch a campaign of action, which could start just days before Brexit day on March 29.
The union said any action could disrupt parliamentary business – meaning the vital lawmaking needed to take Britain out of the EU could be held up – BLOCKING Britain’s exit from the bloc.
PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka said: “The Palace of Westminster needs to pay serious attention to the demands of a key part of the parliamentary workforce.
“Hardworking staff are only asking for what is fair and just. They are not prepared to put up with a culture of fear.
“We urge management to meet with our representatives as a matter of urgency and settle this dispute.”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Theresa May yesterday tried to reassure people in Northern Ireland that she can secure a Brexit deal that avoids a hard border with Ireland.
