CATWALK KING KARL KICKS BUCKET

FASHION STATEMENT: Model and Lagerfeld DONATELLA Versace and Victoria Beckham are among the predictable stars paying tribute to overpriced fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld following his death.

The German, who was the creative director for Chanel and Fendi, died after a period of ill-health at around the age of 85.

Lagerfeld’s date of birth has long been unclear. It was widely believed to be 1933, although it is listed as 1938 on his official website. In 2013, he told Paris Match magazine that he was born in 1935.

Versace led the tributes to the designer, writing on Instagram: “Karl your genius touched the lives of so many, especially Gianni and I.

“We will never forget your incredible talent and endless inspiration. We were always learning from you.”

Singer- turned- designer Beckham posted on Instagram: “So incredibly sad to hear this. Karl was a genius and always so kind and generous to me both personally and professionally. RIP x vb.”

Pony-tailed freak Lagerfeld – who appeared to have copied his look from a Bulgarian pimp – was widely respected by the sort of brainless airhead who enjoys watching unhappy, stick-thin women parade about on a stage.

Thinking himself an “artist” rather than a jumped-up tailor, Lagerfeld made statements designed to court controversy.

Last year, he told models who didn’t want to be groped they should join a convent.
