Jermaine Gaye, 34, was taken into custody in January in a hit-and-run case in which two people were injured.

While in jail in Norfolk, Virginia, he started chatting over the phone with two women and asked them to threaten the witness in the case.

Denise Kearney and Ashley Pinkett rang the witness several times and tried to convince her “to either change her story or not come to court”. They allegedly also visited the home of the witness.

Gaye also encouraged the two women to have sex with his dog. call, Gaye appeared to drape a white towel over the back of his head.

Gaye remains in jail with an additional charge of cruelty to animals.

Pinkett and Kearney were also taken into custody.

Pinkett is now facing 20 charges including bestiality, while Kearney is facing seven similar charges.

Virginia Beach Jail authorities say they are cooperating fully with the investigation.

In a statement they said: “It is our policy to fully prosecute any criminal activity that occurs within our facility, to include any criminal conduct that may be captured as part of an inmate’s visitation.

“All inmates and their visitors are warned that visits are monitored and recorded.”
