Tycoon, 84, demanded sex a day
AN OAP tycoon demanded sex 10 TIMES a day, his former partner claims in a bombshell lawsuit.
Janet Bedin, 68, said she and moneybags Vito Verni, 84, “lived together as a couple” between the beginning of 2019 and end of 2021 at his mansion in Westchester, New York.
The ex-model claimed her on-again-off-again octogenarian beau had persuaded her to ditch her career and her apartment, and move into his sprawling home.
Bedin is now suing Verni for £68m, and charging a laundry list including defamation, fraudulent inducement, harassment, and illegal eviction, according to court papers filed at Manhattan Supreme Court.
Duped
The civil suit paints a picture of a career woman duped by a man who swept her off her feet with promises of love and luxury that he did not keep.
Bedin even gave up her dog, because Verni had a cat, and she worked “like a horse”, the complaint says, adding: “The plaintiff was to be 100 percent his caregiver. Over the years, Bedin “developed an exciting career, well respected by executives and government leaders, travelling back and forth from New York to Italy,” the suit adds.
From 1991 to 1995, she served as executive director of the New York State Economic office for Italy and Spain under former Gov. Mario Cuomo. She served again in that post from 2015 to 2018.
Once Bedin moved in, “the relationship changed,” the suit says, and that Verni became controlling and verbally and physically abusive.
And the “experienced New York City landlord for over 65 years” evicted Bedin, says the lawsuit.
Verni’s lawyer, Eric Grayson, said: “Bedin’s baseless lawsuit is one more attempt to harass Mr Verni… she filed the same suit last month and it was dismissed.”
