Midweek Visiter - - News -

YOU are more likely to be stopped and searched by police in Litherland than any other part of Sefton, according to recent figures.

Between May 1-July 31 this year, officers conducted 767 stop and searches in the borough.

A police officer has the power to stop and search you if they have reasonable grounds to suspect that you are carrying: illegal drugs a weapon stolen property something that could be used to commit a crime e.g a crowbar.

The grounds the police officer must have should be based on facts, information or intelligence or could be because of the way you are behaving.
