‘Amazeing’ time just beginning as festive season approaches

Midweek Visiter - - Southport Bid -

OVER 3,000 people made it through our haunted maze this weekend, all part of our annual Hallowe’en Festival.

The event continues to grow and we have had four superb days of events that have drawn people into the town from around Merseyside and Lancashire for great, free family fun.

From pirates to dragons, we brought in spectacular interactive entertainment that encouraged families to spend all day in town.

The festival now puts Southport right at the front of people’s minds as a destination for half term.

We haven’t stopped now it is over.

It is full speed ahead for the switch-on event on November 18.

We have a great pop line up, all to be announced this week.

There are some very big surprises to be revealed about the night, and about the spectacular Christmas tree we are investing in for the town.

All will be revealed in the next few days so follow us on social media or keep checking out our website.

Our big news last week was that Town Hall Gardens will be transformed into an open air ice rink this year!

Surrounded by a host of Christmas chalets as part of a joint festive campaign by Sefton Council and Southport BID, the rink will be running from December 7 to January 5.

Last year’s ice rink was a great success and we are pleased that with Sefton Council’s support we are bringing it back even bigger and better.

It looks set, with our stunning new tree, to be spectacular.

We want to make sure Southport is a great destination for Christmas this year with locals and visitors coming in to skate, eat and shop!

The whole event, along with shopping and dining in Southport during the festive season, will be supported by a joint multi-channel marketing campaign produced by BID and Visit Southport.

Above, fun for the kids; inset, the maze: the Hallowe’en Festival is now a firm favourite
