A spooky week gives way to Christmas
WELL, that was a somewhat “spooky” week for us here at Sandgrounder Radio.
We broadcast Hallowe’en Night live from the stunning Wayfarers Arcade in Southport.
We took along Wendy Hargreaves, aka Wendy The Spook, and Gillian Deacon from Innervisions, in Southport.
We captured quite a bit of activity, including a lot of “orbs” one of which, as you can see from the still of our Facebook live video of Dave and Wendy, is very poignant across Wendy’s face.
Speaking of Wayfarers, they celebrated their 120th birthday last month and Yvonne Burns celebrated her 19 years as centre manager. Congratulations, Yvonne. It’s been quite a hectic few weeks for us, we’ve been giving prizes away left, right and centre.
We ran a competition last week to see the Back To Bacharach show at Southport Theatre.
We also gave away 10 VIP places to Bistrot Pierre’s first anniversary celebratory event, too.
I think it’s safe to say the countdown to Christmas is now well and truly on.
From Sunday, November 18, we’ll be launching Southport Christmas Radio in conjunction with Southport BID and Visit Southport.
The station will be available online, mobile apps and smart devices.
The station will feature the greatest Christmas songs... non-stop! As well as giving you the lowdown on some amazing things the whole family can get involved with this Christmas in Southport.
As the song goes... It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!!
As ever, as your local radio station, you can hear us on DAB+ digital radio, mobile apps, smart devices and online via www.sandgrounderradio.co.uk
