It’s small and cosy but cute

LIVIN at 156 is the new venue to come from entrepreneur Stephen Atkins.

He already owns This is Livin Bar and Grill, an award winning restaurant, and Livin Kitchen, a small but cosy and cute deli.

He claims this new prohibition style bar in Crosby run by a family who strive to contribute to the local and wider community, by stocking, selling and promoting local alcohols, breweries and independent producers.

Furthermore, they seek to employ local apprentices and youth.

The owners said the opening of this new bar is a significant moment in Crosby.

“Livin at 156 creates the feeling that you’re taking a step back in time, to a hidden speakeasy with beautifully crafted and presented cocktails, craft beers, and a well-balanced wine menu” said Stephen, with one of the repeat customers, Hillary, joking that Livin at 156 as the brainchild of Stephen, is evidence that he has always wanted to be part of the secret seven, with his hidden doors and secret passwords!

Stephen said he grew up in Crosby, but moved to London to train with Michelin-starred chefs, and opened up his first restaurant.

Having spent 20 years there and finding success in London, he moved back to Crosby when his father’s health declined.

Here he found love in childhood friend Marie McQueen, and together they built their first restaurant together, This Is Livin Bar and Grill – named after Stephen’s father, whose favourite pastime was sitting enjoying the garden, and could often be heard to say ‘Ahh, now this is living’, but sadly passed away before the restaurant opened.
