It’s all go for radio station as Christmas lights up
BUSY busy busy! That about sums us up at this current moment in time and we’re loving it!
We had Dave Hill from Slade join us live on the Breakfast Show with Brent last week, ahead of Slade’s Liverpool gig this coming Saturday.
You can hear the interview in full by going to our website. Lots going on at the moment. This Thursday, December 6, we’ll be in Birkdale Village for their annual Christmas Fayre.
Birkdale Village is lovely at the best of times but the Christmas Fayre is just magical.
With live performances, festive food and drink too. We can’t wait.
We’re also going to be switching on the Sidney Road Christmas Lights this Saturday, where Southport singing sensation Astrid Smith from The Voice UK Kids will be performing, as well as the students from So Talented Academy in Southport.
It promises to be a great evening. The switch-on is at 6pm and it’s all to raise money for Freshfields Animal Rescue. Hope you can join us.
Also, we now have our ‘pop-up studio’ in Wayfarers Arcade.
Right opposite Father Christmas’ Grotto.
We’ll be soaking up the Christmas atmosphere in what I think is one of Southport’s most amazing places.
Pop along every weekend in December to say hello and get yourself some goodies.
I think it’s now officially acceptable to listen to Christmas songs, don’t you?
Our sister radio service, Southport Christmas Radio, is currently broadcasting online and on your mobile devices, playing the greatest Christmas songs, non-stop, 24/7. Plus you’ll be able to hear how magical Christmas is in Southport this year.
It’s all in association with Visit Southport, Sefton Council and Southport BID.
Just go to http://www.southportchristmasradio.co.uk for all the details and to listen LIVE.
I thought i’d take the opportunity, in this edition of the Sandgrounder Showcase to do just that – and showcase some of the pictures from when we broadcast live backstage at the 2018 Southport Christmas Lights Switch-On.
What a great afternoon and evening that was.
Myself and Dave Turley really did have a fab time and i think all the lights, including the tree, look amazing.
Finally, in the coming weeks we’ll be getting even more festive here at Sangrounder Radio by changing our name to SANTAgrounder Radio (see what we did there). More details on that very soon. Anyone for a mince pie? As ever, to listen to us, as your local radio station, you can find us on your DAB+ Digital Radio, mobile apps, smart devices and online via www.sandgrounderradio.co.uk.
